The name GABE is inspired by the giant crabs that are commonly found along the beautiful shores of Zanzibar. These crabs represent strength, resilience, and deep roots in our island — values that our company proudly stands for.
Gabe Tours & Travel was founded by three young men who had just completed their university studies. Instead of searching for jobs, they saw a great opportunity in Zanzibar’s fast-growing tourism sector. Motivated by the desire to create their own employment and contribute to the local economy, they decided to start their own tour and travel company.
What started as a small dream among three friends has now grown into a well-established tour company trusted by travelers from around the world. Their vision has always been clear — to deliver authentic, well-organized, and memorable experiences while supporting local communities and promoting sustainable tourism in Zanzibar and East Africa.
